"If you can dream it, you can achieve it."

- Zig Zigler

Through her various adventures, Sierra Findley has observed how women are often held back from experiencing the great outdoors due to feelings of insecurity or inadequacy. Additionally, as a nurse, Sierra has also dedicated her career to working with families who have children with various medical challenges. Through this work, she came to realize the need of support for these families to gain the confidence and skills necessary to get out and explore nature with their children. It was evident that there was a pressing need for greater diversity and accessibility, not only for women, but also for the  disadvantaged and minority groups as a whole. A need to help these groups feel confident on our trail systems.

While summiting Mount Lassen with her husband in 2018, Haleigh Worth read a sign that led to an ever-growing concern for our trail systems and the lack of conservational awareness. The sign informed hikers of “trail scars” and the importance of staying on the trail in order to preserve our natural world. She began to dream of a business that would inspire others to care for our trail systems and their surrounding ecosystems.

Combining the two dreams, Sierra and Haleigh worked together to build Squeaky Boots LLC.

"It takes two flints to make a fire." – Louisa May Alcott

Sierra has a passion for working with people and fostering a love for the outdoors. Over the past 7 years, she has practiced play lead learning, and trauma-informed care in her career in Special Needs Nursing. She has spent her lifetime soaking up outdoor activities in many forms, and actively seeks adventure in the "little" moments. She hopes to share this passion with others so that they too can adopt a life full of wonder.

“I am so excited to be bringing my experience helping people to the outdoors through Squeaky Boots. I couldn’t ask for more than to be uniting my two passions; people and outdoor exploration!”

   - Sierra Findley

Haleigh is currently a 5th-grade teacher at Normal Park Museum Magnet School in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Over the years she has developed a deeper connection with nature through frequent backpacking, hiking, and camping adventures; as well as an ever-growing love for working with youth. She soon hopes to take her classroom experience exclusively to the outdoors to inspire future outdoor enthusiasts.

“Education and the outdoors go hand in hand. I hope that through Squeaky Boots LLC we can inspire others to foster a love and respect for our trail systems.”
